Ontem à noite aconteceu a segunda apresentação do Letters Live em Nova York, que teve como convidados: Benedict, Chevy Chase, James Earl Jones, Laurence Fishburne, Molly Ringwald, Ben Foster, Edie Falco, Uzo Aduba, Kyle MacLachlan, Ian McShane, Noma Dumezweni, Lauren Graham, Katie Holmes e Clarke Peters, além de contar com a música de Laura Mvula e Paloma Faith e narração de Louise Brealey.
Segundo o The Hollywood Reporter, que fez uma crítica (positiva) do evento, Benedict leu três cartas: a carta de um escritor britânico para sua amante, avisando sobre a possibilidade de ter passado pediculosa pubiana para ela, uma carta que o Rei George VI escreveu para sua filha Elizabeth no dia do seu casamento, e uma carta que o poeta Dylan Thomas escreveu para sua esposa durante uma visita à Nova York.
